The Player Entrepreneurship Programme is designed to give current and former professional footballers the knowledge, tools and confidence to build and grow successful businesses.

Combining academic frameworks with real-world insight from industry experts, investors and athlete entrepreneurs, the programme takes participants through a structured journey from idea development to investor-ready business planning and live pitch delivery.

Course Objectives and Target Audience

Course Content

Module 1 - Entrepreneurial Foundations and Opportunity Identification
  • Translating athlete mindset and performance behaviours into business success
  • Identifying scalable business ideas and real world problems worth solving

  • Exploring industries and benchmarking successful ventures

  • Developing clear value propositions and strategic positioning

Module 2 - Business Design, Market Insight and Strategy
 
  • Building business models, defining revenue streams and operational structures

  • Conducting market analysis, segmentation and customer validation

  • Assessing competition, trends and positioning opportunities

  • Designing MVPs and developing products or services for launch

Module 3 - Financial Planning, Growth and Commercialisation
  • Understanding revenue models, pricing strategies and business viability

  • Financial planning, including cash flow, cost modelling and forecasting

  • Branding, storytelling and leveraging athlete identity

  • Developing go-to-market strategies and commercial partnerships

Module 4 - Investment Readiness, Governance and Execution
  • Structuring companies, legal frameworks and risk management

  • Preparing investor pitches and building compelling pitch decks

  • Developing full business plans with clear financial and strategic narratives

  • Delivering a live investor pitch and refining ventures through expert feedback
